Home Brew Audio

БогородицаиконографияMy wife and I recently met Ken Theriot at NAMS in Atlanta and had a great jam session out by the pool at the hotel. We even had a virtual camp fire courtesty of Kirstin Eckstein and her netbook! ( No “Kum By Yah” was sung during the sing-a-long )

A little about Ken…

Ken and his wife Lisa are very talented singer/songwriters performing original music in a “current middle ages” style. Here is a summary from their site at Raven Boy Music

The musicians of Raven Boy Music are “bards” in the renaissance re-creation group, the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). We have something for everybody, from those who listen to good music (on the long drive to an event or faire, perhaps!) to those who want to learn and perform our songs, to those looking for sheet music and guitar tutorial videos.

About “Home Brew Audio”…

Another one of Ken’s endeavors is a great blog on recording quality audio at home. For all of you wanting to learn more about audio recording with your computer, check out
Home Brew Audio

Though I have been playing music and recording for quite a while I am learning a lot from Ken’s great articles and how-to videos. If you are looking at doing voice over work, songwriting, recording projects for your self or others, Home Brew Audio has a wealth of great information for you!

James Casto – Great Singer and Songwriter!

We have had the pleasure of seeing James Casto in several venues. We have truly enjoyed his music and blown away with his voice, playing and writing.

He is a drummer who learned to play piano so that he could get the songs in his head out for us all to enjoy. Click on the player on the right to hear some great music! You can even book James for a private concert in your home!

But don’t just take my word for it, check out the reviews here:

“With a rock style that is reminiscent of Billy Joel or Joe Jackson, Casto performed songs such as “Lost” (which reminded me of Marc Cohn’s “Walking in Memphis”), “Two Inches Deep” and “Courageous.”… after seeing (him) perform I am a fan…” — Devin Grant, Charleston Post and Courier

“His lyrical style reminds me of Bruce Springsteen, very Americana and very real. It took me a couple listens catch the stories behind the songs, but it wasn’t due to his lyrics, but the fact that his voice is so mesmerizing.” — E Jeff Einowski , CD Babel

“With his percussive groove-gospel piano style to his soulful, passionate voice, James’ collection of songs will reach anyone with a human heart. It is faith without alienation, love without bounds, and a gift you will treasure for years to come.” — Fran Snyder – Founder, ConcertsInYourHome.com

If you are in the Atlanta, make a point to get out and see James!
