Home Brew Audio

БогородицаиконографияMy wife and I recently met Ken Theriot at NAMS in Atlanta and had a great jam session out by the pool at the hotel. We even had a virtual camp fire courtesty of Kirstin Eckstein and her netbook! ( No “Kum By Yah” was sung during the sing-a-long )

A little about Ken…

Ken and his wife Lisa are very talented singer/songwriters performing original music in a “current middle ages” style. Here is a summary from their site at Raven Boy Music

The musicians of Raven Boy Music are “bards” in the renaissance re-creation group, the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). We have something for everybody, from those who listen to good music (on the long drive to an event or faire, perhaps!) to those who want to learn and perform our songs, to those looking for sheet music and guitar tutorial videos.

About “Home Brew Audio”…

Another one of Ken’s endeavors is a great blog on recording quality audio at home. For all of you wanting to learn more about audio recording with your computer, check out
Home Brew Audio

Though I have been playing music and recording for quite a while I am learning a lot from Ken’s great articles and how-to videos. If you are looking at doing voice over work, songwriting, recording projects for your self or others, Home Brew Audio has a wealth of great information for you!

I Heard My “Name” On The Radio…. oops , I Meant Podcast!

I was working out this morning in the gym at work listening to one of my favorite podcasts, Jay and Sterling’s “Internet Business Mastery” when much to my surprise, they read the review I had left on iTunes!

It was an interesting feeling – though I realize my “handle” was not really MY NAME!

However, I knew who it was! It reminded of my teenage days when I called the local Top 40 radio station to make a request and got put on the air. This is just more evidence that the podcast is the new media radio of today.

You know, there might be something to this “social networking” thing….

Life Hacking

As I have researched material around the web, I “stumbled upon” many of the “Life Hacks” sites.

Danny O’Brien coined the phrase and this interview gives a good history of this buzz word (from Lifehacker.com).

Wikipedia says “The term life hack refers to productivity tricks that programmers devise and employ to cut through information overload and organize their data.”

I see the term as evolving to include any and all tips on streamlining and shortcutting through the clutter of our current constantly connected culture.

Do YOU have any tips and tricks to share?
